Concept car Rinspeed Splash

As a development partner of ESORO AG, Switzerland, swissauto was responsible to realize the whole drive train for the Splash, a Rinspeed Design concept car. Target was to realize a very compact, lightweight and very performant drive system, which is able to run with gasoline as well as with CNG fuel. As a base engine, the Weber MPE 750 engine was the optimal solution. In less than 7 months, the whole drive system including the switchable drive unit for the Sterndrive and the 6 speed gearbox was developed, realized, integrated and tested in the car together with the Rinspeed development partners ESORO and NAVAL.

The new concept car was presented to the public at teh Geneva Autoshow 2004 and was presented worldwide on several events.

In July 2006, the word record for the english channel crossing was realized with this unique concept car.
